BNP leaders are set to meet the Chief Adviser this evening to discuss the ongoing political situation, though the exact attendees from BNP remain unconfirmed.
According to BNP sources, the party will express its concerns over the current political climate and may also reassure its continued cooperation with the interim government.
The decision for this meeting was made last Friday during BNP’s Standing Committee session, after which the party formally requested an appointment with the Chief Adviser.
Meanwhile, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, following a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) yesterday, clarified to reporters that no proposal was made regarding the election timeline. However, he mentioned that the issue will be discussed during the meeting with the Chief Adviser on Monday, February 10.
Liberty News’ national affairs correspondent states that Khan further stated that BNP will present a roadmap for the upcoming national elections, as the Chief Adviser is responsible for announcing the election plans.
