BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas stated that the party is prepared for the upcoming elections within the timeline set by the interim government. However, he accused other political parties of creating confusion with contradictory statements about the elections.
He made these remarks on Friday afternoon at the inauguration of the primary membership renewal program of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan.
Mirza Abbas emphasized the importance of dedicated party members, saying, “We only need 10 loyal activists; thousands are not necessary. Caution and awareness are essential when renewing memberships. Those involved in fascism or unethical activities should not be made members of the party.”
Commenting on the rising prices of essential commodities ahead of Ramadan, Mirza Abbas said, “Prices are skyrocketing once again as Ramadan approaches. Even with a change in government, the syndicates remain the same.”
Liberty News’ political correspondent states that he further criticized the political landscape, stating, “If members of other political parties default on loans, no action is taken, but BNP is always blamed. Other parties use the BNP’s name to cover up their own faults. This can no longer be tolerated.”
