BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi on Saturday evening.
Sayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell, confirmed the matter.
Earlier, Shafiqur fell ill while addressing a party rally in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan this afternoon.
Despite feeling unwell, he completed his speech sitting on the stage. Later, he was taken to the hospital.
Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher said the party leader fell ill due to the intense heat.
Jamaat’s publicity wing in-charge Ataur Rahman Sarkar told reporters that the Jamaat ameer’s health condition is now normal.
