A new album titled “Bujhlam” by “Ek Nirjharer Gaan” is set for release under the banner of Ganshala. Written and composed by filmmaker and lyricist Enamul Karim Nirjhar, the album presents four blues tracks performed by four of Bangladesh’s most prominent contemporary singers.
The album features Somnur Monir Konal with “Drishyer Chhaya”, Masha Islam with the title track “Bujhlam”, Antara Rahman with “Bojhapora Shobdota”, and Dola Rahman with “Thakle Sahos”. The musical arrangement has been handled by Autumnal Moon.
Exploring themes of inner conflict and loneliness, the songs combine blues melodies with lyrics and visuals that aim to capture subtle emotional depth. Nirjhar explained that the choice of genre was inspired by his own personal uncertainties and conversations with Autumnal Moon about giving performers space to connect with the words on a deeper level.
The project has been produced through a combined Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Intellectual Social Responsibility (ISR) initiative. Mosco Group supported the album as CSR sponsor, while Ganshala continues its work to develop sustainable earning models for music professionals through the CSR–ISR approach.
Autumnal Moon highlighted the distinctiveness of the project, noting that four leading female singers had been brought together to perform blues songs—an uncommon approach in Bangladeshi music. He previously collaborated on the CSR–ISR album Tal Betaler Shohore and sees growing potential in the model.
Releases will begin on 25 September, with one song unveiled each week on the Ganshala – EKNC YouTube channel, starting with Konal’s “Drishyer Chhaya”.
Speaking about her contribution, Konal described the experience as “wonderful,” adding that she particularly connected with the lyrics of her track and hoped listeners would enjoy the performances as much as the singers did.
