Interim Government’s Chief Advisor and Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus stated that business is the most powerful tool capable of changing the world. “If everyone can earn, it is possible to transform the destiny of people,” he said.
Dr. Yunus made the remarks on Wednesday around 11:15 AM while inaugurating the Bangladesh Investment Summit held at a Dhaka hotel.
Reflecting on the country’s progress, he said, “From 1974 to 2025, Bangladesh has made an incredible journey. We’ve had to cross a long and challenging road during this time.”
He emphasized the role of youth in global transformation, urging them not to be job-seekers but to become entrepreneurs instead.
Prior to his speech, Dr. Yunus handed out awards to several companies for their contribution to investment in four different categories. The awardees included Walton (local investor), bKash (foreign investor), Square Pharmaceuticals, and Fabrics.
In a special category, Chairman of the Korean Export Processing Zone, Ki-Hak Sung, was awarded honorary citizenship for his contributions.
Liberty News’ city correspondent reports that the ‘Bangladesh Investment Summit’ began on April 7 at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka and will continue until April 10.
