Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus arrived in London on Tuesday morning for a four-day official visit, aimed at bolstering Bangladesh-UK relations through high-level meetings.
An Emirates Airlines flight carrying Prof Yunus and his entourage landed at Heathrow International Airport at approximately 7:05 AM (London time). The delegation departed from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 7:30 PM on Monday.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Abida Islam, along with a representative of the His Majesty’s Government, welcomed the Chief Adviser upon arrival.
“This is a very important visit,” said Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique. He confirmed that Prof Yunus is scheduled to meet His Majesty King Charles III and hold bilateral discussions with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, among other key engagements.
“The relationship between Bangladesh and the UK is very deep and diverse,” Siddique noted, adding that the visit is expected to significantly strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations.
