The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no 3 following the formation of a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent regions.
According to a Met office bulletin issued Thursday, the low-pressure system is likely to intensify, potentially triggering gusty or squally weather over the maritime ports, North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of the country.
As a precaution, all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been advised to stay close to the coastline and proceed with caution until further notice.
