Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has shared the dream of winning the trophy. If his words come true, meaning if Bangladesh wins the Champions Trophy, they will receive 22.4 million USD, which is approximately 27.06 crore Bangladeshi Taka.
Not just Bangladesh, but the champion team will receive this massive cash prize in their account. The ICC’s prize money list for the Champions Trophy confirms this.
The runner-up will receive 11.2 million USD, which is about 13.53 crore Bangladeshi Taka. The two teams eliminated in the semifinals will each receive 560,000 USD, which is nearly 6.76 crore Taka.
For each win in the group stage, teams will receive 34,000 USD, which is approximately 41.08 lakh Bangladeshi Taka. The fifth and sixth teams will receive 350,000 USD each, which is around 4.22 crore Taka.
The seventh and eighth teams will receive 140,000 USD each, which is nearly 1.69 crore Taka. Additionally, each team will receive 125,000 USD for participating in the tournament, which equals around 1.51 crore Taka in Bangladeshi currency.
This Champions Trophy will be held after a 6-year hiatus, and the prize money has increased by 53% compared to the last tournament in 2017.
