The Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, stated on Monday (March 17) that a country cannot be built by neglecting the police. He made this remark during a meeting with 127 field-level police officers at his office in Tejgaon.
Dr. Yunus emphasized that without law enforcement, there would be no government, democracy, or civil rights. He further stressed that the police are at the front lines and cannot be disregarded in the process of nation-building.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Home Adviser, retired Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Home Secretary Nasimul Gani, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam. Among the field-level officers, DIG Ahsan Habib Palash from the Chittagong range and DIG Farzana Islam from the Rajshahi range also participated.
