On Thursday (February 20), chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus will present the Ekushey Padak awards to the recipients. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. The award distribution will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television.
This information was shared on Wednesday by the Senior Assistant Press Secretary of the chief adviser, Faiz Ahmed.
Earlier, the government decided to award the Ekushey Padak to 18 distinguished individuals and groups for their significant contributions in various fields.
The awardees include Azizur Rahman (Posthumous) for film, Ustad Nirad Boron Barua (Posthumous) , Ferdous Ara for music, Nasir Ali Mamun for photography, Rokeya Sultana for art. Mahfuz Ullah (Posthumous) is recognized in journalism, Maeedul Hasan in research, and Dr. Niaz Zaman in education.
The other awardees include Mehdi Hasan Khan (Team Leader), Rifat Nabi (Team), Mohammad Tanbin Islam Siam (Team), Shabab Mustafa (Team) for science and technology. Mohammad Yusuf Chowdhury (Posthumous) for social service, Helal Hafiz (Posthumous), Shahidul Zahir (Mohammad Shahidul Haq) (Posthumous) for language and literature. Mahmudur Rahman for journalism & human rights, Dr. Shahidul Alam for culture & education, the Bangladesh National Women’s Football Team for sports.
