Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will depart for Doha on Monday for a four-day official visit to attend the Earthna Summit 2025, hosted at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar.

Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, confirmed that Dr. Yunus is visiting Qatar at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During the trip, a bilateral meeting between the Chief Adviser and the Emir is also likely.

Three senior advisers—Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, Energy Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, and Industrial Affairs Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan—will accompany the Chief Adviser.

For the first time in Bangladesh’s history, four national-level female athletes will join the delegation. The sportswomen include footballers Afida Khandaker and Shaheda Akhter Ripa, as well as cricketers Sumaiya Akhter and Sharmin Sultana.

The Earthna Summit, being held for the second time, carries the theme “Building Our Legacy: Sustainability, Innovation, and Traditional Knowledge.” It aims to leverage Qatar’s unique climate and cultural heritage to drive sustainable development.

Scheduled for April 22 and 23, the summit will feature keynotes, interactive panel discussions, workshops, and roundtable dialogues focusing on integrating traditional wisdom with modern innovation to build a resilient and inclusive future.
