Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, held a meeting with Uruguay’s Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin in Rome, discussing matters of mutual interest.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, met with Uruguay’s Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin on Saturday in Rome. The meeting took place at the hotel where Dr. Yunus was staying, focusing on issues of shared interest and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Yunus attended the funeral of Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, representing Bangladesh at the solemn event. Before and after the ceremony, he exchanged greetings with several world leaders, including United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, former US President Joe Biden, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
Other prominent figures he met included leaders from Kenya, Montenegro, Luxembourg, Ecuador, East Timor, Honduras, Iceland, Portugal, Belgium, Monaco, Norway, Tunisia, Liechtenstein, as well as the Director-General of the World Health Organization and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach. Former US Secretary of State John Kerry and the foreign ministers of Sri Lanka, Bahrain, and Syria also greeted the Bangladeshi Chief Adviser during the occasion.
