A violent clash broke out among BNP workers in Comilla’s Chauddagram over seating arrangements and banners, leaving at least 15 people injured.
On Monday, March 24, an altercation occurred outside the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Municipal Hall during an organizational meeting of the BNP in Chauddagram. The conflict arose over the seating arrangements and the placement of banners and festoons, leading to a physical confrontation between two factions of the party.
The injured include district and local BNP leaders, such as Sajedur Rahman Molla Hiron, Rafiqul Islam Shamim, and several others. They received initial medical treatment at Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex.
Sajedur Rahman Molla Hiron alleged that he was assaulted by the supporters of Kamrul Huda when attempting to enter the venue. Meanwhile, Kamrul Huda, a former president of the Chauddagram BNP, claimed the dispute was over seating and banners outside the auditorium, but insisted that no violence occurred inside the hall.
