Students from Dhaka College and Dhaka City College clashed in the capital’s Science Lab area on Tuesday morning, prompting heavy police deployment to restore order.
A sudden clash broke out between students of Dhaka College and Dhaka City College around 11:00 AM on Tuesday in the busy Science Lab intersection. The altercation led to a temporary suspension of traffic on Mirpur Road as tensions escalated between the rival groups.
According to reports, several students from both sides sustained injuries during the confrontation. Police swiftly intervened to control the situation, deploying additional forces in the area to prevent further unrest.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam confirmed the incident, saying, “The situation arose due to a clash between students of the two colleges. We have dispersed the groups and normalcy has returned.”
Law enforcement officials continue to monitor the area to ensure peace and safety for commuters and local residents.
