A Dhaka court on Wednesday ordered six persons, including former law minister Anisul Huq, former food minister Kamrul Islam, and former adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Salman F Rahman, to be shown as arrested in different cases tied with the July Uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ariful Islam passed the order after police produced the accused before the court, seeking their detention.
Others who have been arrested are– former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former secretary Jahangir Alam, and former officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station Abul Hasan.
Additional Public Prosecutor of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsuddoha Sumon confirmed the information.
According to the case documents, Anisul, Salman, Palak, and Abul Hasan were shown arrested in the Rasel Mia murder case filed with the Jatrabari Police Station.
Jahangir Alam was shown arrested in the Imran Hasan murder case, and Kamrul Islam was shown arrested in the Mehedi Hasan Pantho murder case filed with the same police station.
