Bangladesh recorded five new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). With this, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 20,52,241.
No new fatalities were reported during this period, keeping the death toll unchanged at 29,526. However, 27 Covid-related deaths have been recorded so far this year until 17 July.
During the latest 24-hour window (8am Wednesday to 8am Thursday), 253 samples were tested, resulting in a daily positivity rate of 1.98%. The overall positivity rate stands at 13.04%, while the fatality rate remains at 1.44%.
