The ongoing Israeli assault on the besieged Gaza Strip has claimed over 51,000 Palestinian lives, with more than 116,000 injured, according to reports from Al Jazeera and Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip continue to escalate, pushing the Palestinian death toll beyond 51,000. At least 23 more people were killed in strikes that began early Tuesday, with over 50 others injured, as reported by Al Jazeera citing local health authorities.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed that since the beginning of Israel’s offensive, 51,000 Palestinians have been killed and 116,343 have sustained injuries. The toll is expected to rise further as attacks intensify and many remain trapped under the rubble.
The Government Media Office in Gaza, however, reported a higher fatality count, stating that over 61,700 individuals have been killed. Thousands more are believed to be dead under the debris of collapsed buildings, their bodies yet to be recovered.
Meanwhile, Hamas’ military wing has reported losing contact with the unit guarding US-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, who was being held hostage. Communication was severed following direct Israeli bombings of the location where he was allegedly kept.
As humanitarian concerns mount and global calls for a ceasefire grow louder, the devastation in Gaza continues unabated, raising fears of an even greater tragedy in the days to come.
