Paris Saint-Germain edged closer to a UEFA Champions League final berth after defeating Arsenal 1-0 in the first leg of the semifinal, courtesy of an early goal from Ousmane Dembélé at the Emirates Stadium.

Paris Saint-Germain took a significant step toward the UEFA Champions League final by overcoming Arsenal 1-0 in a high-stakes semifinal first-leg encounter on Tuesday night. The French side struck early, with winger Ousmane Dembélé finding the net in just the fourth minute.

Dembélé, who joined PSG from Barcelona in 2023, capitalized on a cut-back inside the box and fired a clinical diagonal shot past the Arsenal keeper. The early breakthrough gave PSG the momentum, as they controlled possession for much of the opening half. Despite several opportunities, Luis Enrique’s men couldn’t extend their lead.

Arsenal, however, regrouped and grew into the match. Mikel Arteta’s side pressed hard in the second half, creating multiple chances but failing to breach the PSG defense. The single goal from Dembélé ultimately proved decisive, handing the Parisians a crucial away advantage.

The return leg is set for May 8 at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Arsenal will need to win, while also managing the goal margin, if they hope to turn the tie around and secure a place in the final.
