Four people died from dengue in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, taking this year’s total death toll to 69, said the Directorate General of Health Services in an update.
As per the update, 319 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country over the same period, as many as 90 of them in Dhaka city areas.
The new fatalities include two children aged 3 years and 9 years as well as a male adult, aged 52 years, and a female adult, aged 40 years.
The total hospitalisations have hit 18,345, so far this year.
Among the latest hospitalisations, 89 were admitted in Barishal division, excluding city areas; 59 in Dhaka division, excluding city corporation areas; 38 in the Chattogram division, excluding the city corporation areas; 30 in Rajshahi division, excluding city corporation areas, nine in Mymensingh division, excluding city areas, and four in Rangpur division, excluding city corporation areas, the DGHS said.
