Three more deaths were reported from dengue in the past 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 195 this year.
In the 24-hour span, 735 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total caseload to 46,786 in 2025.
All the deceased were men.
The deaths were reported in Barishal division, Dhaka division, and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the latest cases, 116 were admitted to hospitals in Barishal division, 98 in Chattogram division, 156 in Dhaka division, 121 under the Dhaka North City Corporation, 95 under DSCC, 39 in Khulna division, 35 in Mymensingh division, 57 in Rajshahi division, 14 in Rangpur division, and four in Sylhet division.
As of now, 60.5% men and 39.5% women have been infected with dengue from 1 January this year, the DGHS said.
Currently 2,407 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
According to the DGHS, there were 1,01,214 dengue cases and 1,00,040 recoveries in the same year.
