Rail communication between Khulna and the rest of the country came to a standstill after a commuter train derailed near Jessore Railway Station on Monday.
A coach of the Mongla-bound Chetna Commuter Train veered off the tracks around 11:00 AM, disrupting all rail traffic to and from Khulna.
Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the derailment. No casualties have been reported so far. Rescue teams and railway officials are working to restore operations, while a detailed report is awaited.
Passengers across the southwestern region are facing delays, with several trains either suspended or rerouted.
