The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned rallies, processions, and gatherings around key areas such as the Secretariat, Shahbagh, and the residence of the Chief Adviser, effective from Thursday, March 13.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on public meetings, processions, and gatherings in several areas of the capital, including the Bangladesh Secretariat, the Chief Adviser’s official residence “Jamuna,” and the Shahbagh intersection. The ban is effective immediately, starting from Thursday, March 13, as per an official notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjat Ali.
The ban covers key locations such as Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection, and Mintu Road. The DMP issued the restriction under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No-III/76), citing the need to maintain public order. The prohibition will remain in place until further notice.
