DMP detains three with anti-government leaflets in Dhaka’s Arambagh

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has apprehended three individuals in the Arambagh area of the capital for possessing a significant quantity of anti-government propaganda flyers.

Acting on intelligence, a team from Motijheel Police Station raided a printing facility named ‘Udayan Printers’ in Arambagh on Thursday afternoon, stated DMP Assistant Commissioner (Media) Jahangir Kabir.

The detainees have been identified as Md Nazrul Islam (42), Md Jahangir Biswas (32), and Shipon (20), according to police reports.

During the operation, law enforcement officers confiscated 4,000 anti-government flyers and four silver-colored metal plates (printing molds) used for production. The three individuals were taken into custody for their suspected involvement in printing and circulating the materials.

Authorities stated that the seized flyers contained anti-government and anti-state propaganda, along with messages advocating for various Awami League initiatives.

Libert News’ crime correspondent states that a case under the Special Powers Act is currently being processed at Motijheel Police Station, the police official added.
