The Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has claimed that a fleeing group is attempting to destabilize the country, emphasizing that the threat is ever-present and constant.
In a recent interview with BBC Bangla, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, expressed concerns about a group that has fled the country or whose leadership has left. He stated that this group is making every effort to destabilize the nation, and that this ongoing threat exists at every level.
He further reflected on his appointment, saying that when the government was formed, he never anticipated becoming the head of a government, especially in a country that was in disarray. “The country is in ruins, and we must work through the destruction to rebuild what’s left,” he said.
Speaking on Bangladesh-India relations, Dr. Yunus described them as excellent. “Our relationship remains unchanged and strong, and I believe it will remain so in the future,” he stated. He emphasized the closeness of the two countries, highlighting the high level of interdependence in political, economic, and historical contexts. Despite minor conflicts, he attributed these issues to misinformation and propaganda, which have led to misunderstandings between the two nations. “We are working towards resolving these misunderstandings,” he added.
Liberty News’ national correspondent states that on the topic of banning or participating in politics, Dr. Yunus said, “I won’t go into details, but we are all citizens of this country. We have equal rights here. We must live together and build this country. No one should have their rights taken away, but anyone who has done wrong must face justice.”
