Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, held a breakfast meeting with notable figures from Thailand on April 4th, 2025, in Bangkok, during the BIMSTEC summit.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, met with prominent Thai figures in a breakfast meeting on Friday, April 4th, 2025, amidst the ongoing BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok. The meeting, confirmed by his press secretary Shafiqul Alam, saw the presence of Bangladesh’s Foreign Adviser, Mohammad Touhid Hossain, along with other members of the Bangladesh delegation.

The BIMSTEC summit, which began on April 2nd, will conclude on April 4th, and also provides a platform for important bilateral discussions. Later on the same day, Dr. Yunus is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their first-ever meeting since the interim government took office. This highly anticipated bilateral meeting between the two leaders will focus on strengthening ties between Bangladesh and India.

Earlier, the two leaders exchanged pleasantries during a dinner on April 3rd, where they were seen engaged in extensive discussions. Both leaders are currently in Bangkok for the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) summit, which has brought together regional leaders to discuss economic cooperation and development.
