Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called on the police to remain alert to ensure that defeated forces cannot destabilize the country ahead of the upcoming national election.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Police Week 2025 on Tuesday afternoon at Rajarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus emphasized the importance of police vigilance during the politically sensitive pre-election period.
He noted that following the fall of autocracy, the police force had faced significant disarray. However, the interim government has since taken various initiatives to reinvigorate the force and create an environment that supports effective law enforcement.
“The period leading up to the election is especially challenging,” Dr. Yunus said. “The police must stay alert so that no defeated force can create instability in the country.”
The chief adviser also assured that the government is actively working to build a supportive environment for the police, enabling them to carry out their duties with confidence and integrity.
