Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called on Qatar to exert diplomatic pressure on Myanmar to ensure the prompt repatriation of Rohingya refugees, warning of regional instability if the crisis remains unresolved.
Speaking at a high-level roundtable discussion in Qatar on Wednesday, Dr. Muhammad Yunus emphasized the urgent need for a lasting solution to the Rohingya crisis. He urged Qatari authorities and the international community to intensify pressure on Myanmar for the safe and dignified return of the displaced Rohingya population.
Dr. Yunus warned that failure to resolve the crisis could lead to serious consequences for peace and stability across the region. He stressed that the protracted displacement not only strains Bangladesh’s resources but also poses a threat to regional security.
The roundtable brought together policymakers, diplomats, and human rights advocates to discuss collaborative measures for resolving the ongoing humanitarian crisis. Dr. Yunus highlighted the importance of sustained international engagement and regional cooperation to facilitate a peaceful resolution.
