Speaking to journalists on Sunday (May 25), Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the Chief Advisor, stated unequivocally that “Dr. Yunus will not stay a single day after June 30.” His remarks came after a high-level meeting where 20 political leaders met with the Chief Advisor to discuss ongoing political developments.
Alam highlighted that all present leaders extended their support to Professor Yunus, especially regarding ongoing reforms, judicial proceedings, and electoral preparations. “They expressed full support for the initiatives we are taking and assured cooperation with the interim government and the Chief Advisor,” he added.
The discussions reportedly covered a wide range of issues, including election-related reforms and governance strategies. According to Alam, the Chief Advisor reiterated his commitment to holding the national election between December and June, firmly stating that he would not remain in office beyond the June 30 deadline.
