Autorickshaw hijacked in Dhanmondi

An auto-rickshaw driver named Shah Alam (35) was rendered unconscious and his vehicle was stolen in front of the Baitul Aman Jame Masjid in Dhanmondi, the capital city.

The incident occurred around 1:30 AM on Friday (March 21), Shah Alam was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohammad Nur Ahmad of Dhanmondi Police Station, who brought Shah Alam to the hospital, said, “While on duty that night, we found Shah Alam in an unconscious state, lying on the road near Baitul Aman Jame Masjid. We then rescued him and admitted him to ward 601 at Dhaka Medical College.”

He further explained that Shah Alam revealed that a gang of thieves had drugged him, stole his auto-rickshaw, abandoned him on the roadside. Shah Alam is the son of Nurul Islam from the Shibganj area of Bogura District.
