The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election is set to take place in the second week of September, with the official schedule to be announced on 29 July.
Prof Mohammad Zashim Uddin, the chief returning officer of the Ducsu election and a faculty member of the university’s Botany Department, confirmed the matter on Saturday (20 July).
As part of the preparations, election officials held a second round of view-exchange meetings with student representatives from various departments and institutes. The meeting took place at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Monday (14 July). The first round of discussions was held a day earlier, on Sunday (13 July).
During the sessions, student leaders shared their views on several key issues, including polling arrangements, administrative support, security measures, and the overall voting process. They also put forward various suggestions to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election environment.
The Ducsu and Hall Sangsad polls are expected to be held simultaneously.
