Christians across the globe, including Bangladesh, are observing Easter Sunday today, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ with spiritual devotion and celebratory gatherings.
Easter Sunday, one of the most sacred festivals in Christianity, marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead — an event believers regard as the cornerstone of their faith. According to Christian tradition, Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose from the dead on the third day, Sunday, signifying victory over death and sin.
This significant day is celebrated with both religious solemnity and festive joy, reflecting on the message of hope, renewal, and salvation. Churches around the world hold special prayers, processions, and sermons highlighting the meaning of Christ’s resurrection.
Easter Sunday does not fall on a fixed date. Instead, it is celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon after March 21, based on calculations involving Gregorian and Julian calendars. As a result, Easter may occur anytime between April 4 and May 8.
In Bangladesh, the Christian community is celebrating the day with traditional religious rituals, masses, and community programs. Both spiritual observances and cultural festivities are taking place to mark this sacred occasion.
