The Election Commission (EC) has granted preliminary registration to 73 observer organisations ahead of the upcoming national elections.
On Saturday, the EC Secretariat issued a public notice releasing the list of eligible non-governmental organisations.
According to the notice, following a verification process, the 73 organisations have been shortlisted under clause 4.4 (a) of the relevant guidelines for registration as election observer bodies.
The EC also invited objections, complaints, or claims regarding the listed organisations. Any such submissions must be made in writing within 15 working days of the announcement—by 20 October at the latest.
Objection Process:
Applicants must include their name, address, and phone number.
Six copies of the objection, along with supporting documents, must be submitted to the senior secretary of the EC Secretariat, Agargaon, Dhaka.
The EC will hold hearings on the objections before deciding whether to accept or reject them.
The decision of the Commission will be deemed final.
