All educational institutions across Bangladesh have commenced extended holidays ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and the summer break, with schedules varying by level.
Secondary schools, madrasas, and vocational institutions officially began their vacations on Sunday (June 1). However, due to the preceding weekend holidays on May 30 and 31, classes had already been suspended since May 29.
The combined Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation for secondary and vocational institutions will run until June 19. Although schools are scheduled to reopen on June 20, regular classes will resume from June 22, as June 21 falls on a Friday.
Meanwhile, government primary schools—numbering over 65,000—will begin their holidays on June 3, with the break continuing until June 23.
Government and private colleges will also start their Eid and summer holidays on June 3, ending on June 12.
The coordinated vacation schedule aims to ease travel and allow families across the country to prepare for the Eid al-Azha celebration.
