Egypt is preparing a comprehensive plan to rebuild war-torn Gaza without displacing Palestinians from their homeland, as confirmed by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He assured that this plan will be implemented without forcing Palestinians to leave their land. Sisi made this statement during a meeting with Ronald Lauder, head of the World Jewish Congress, in Cairo.

According to a statement from the Egyptian president’s office, their discussion focused on the implementation of the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza, reducing tensions through prisoner and hostage exchanges, and increasing access for humanitarian aid to the devastated region.

President Sisi emphasized the urgency of starting Gaza’s reconstruction while ensuring that Palestinians are not displaced. He also urged all parties to act responsibly to maintain the ceasefire and warned that if the conflict escalates, it would be detrimental to all involved.

Sisi reiterated that the only realistic solution to the Palestinian issue is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He noted that this political solution is the only way to ensure lasting and sustainable peace.

After the meeting, Ronald Lauder, the head of the World Jewish Congress, expressed his interest in continuing regular discussions with Cairo due to Egypt’s important role in establishing peace in the Middle East. He praised Egypt for its efforts to maintain peace in the region and exchanged views on the next steps regarding the current situation in Gaza.

Meanwhile, USA President Donald Trump has repeatedly proposed the occupation of Gaza and the resettlement of its population, suggesting the region be developed as the “Riviera of the Middle East.” However, many countries, including those in the Arab world, have rejected this idea, viewing it as a form of ethnic cleansing.

Liberty News’ international correspondent reports that this controversial proposal comes at a time when the ceasefire agreement, effective from January 19 in Gaza, has temporarily halted Israel’s genocidal war. So far, nearly 48,300 Palestinians have been killed in this war, most of whom are women and children. As a result of the conflict, Gaza has been left in a state of utter devastation, with bodies of the deceased still being recovered daily from the rubble.
