The 13th National Parliament election will be held in the first half of February next year, said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

“Some beneficiaries from the fallen government are spreading confusion over the election. Paid by the ousted government, their claims will come to nothing. Election will be held in the first half of February,” he said.

Speaking at a discussion with journalists on Friday at the conference hall of Netrokona Circuit House, he emphasised that the media, as the fourth estate of the state, plays a crucial role in conveying accurate and positive messages about government activities to the public.

He urged strengthening mutual trust and understanding between the government and the media.

He also noted that responsible and constructive journalism can bring positive changes in society, and the media is a key ally in promoting government development initiatives.

During the meeting, journalists raised local issues, opportunities, and professional challenges, offering various suggestions to improve the standards of journalism.
