The 13th parliamentary elections and July Charter implementation referendum will be held on any day between 8 and 12 February, said Election Commissioner Md Anwarul Islam Sarkar on Tuesday.
On 7 December, the Election Commission would hold a meeting to finalise the election schedule and fix the date. Based on the outcome of the meeting, the schedule is likely to be announced on 11 December, he told reporters.
To properly host two different kinds of elections on the same date, the Election Commission is also considering increasing the number of polling rooms and the voting time.
The vote casting period could be extended by one hour to nine hours, he added.
