Elon Musk has raised alarms about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence, suggesting that by 2030, AI could surpass human intelligence and pose a serious threat to human civilization.
In a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Elon Musk shared his concerns about the rapid development of artificial intelligence, predicting that it could outsmart humans in the near future. Musk explained, “I have always believed AI will be much smarter than humans. It could pose an existential risk to humanity, and that risk is becoming more real.”
While Musk acknowledges some uncertainty about the exact timeline, he believes that by 2029 or 2030, AI could reach a level of intelligence far beyond human capacity. He cautioned that the likelihood of AI contributing to the collapse of human civilization could be as high as 20%.
This is not the first time Musk has voiced such concerns. Last year, in discussions with Nikolai Tangen, CEO of Norges Bank, he reiterated that AI might surpass human intellect within two years, raising the probability of a catastrophic impact. Musk’s warnings underscore the increasing urgency for careful regulation and control of AI technology to prevent unintended consequences.
