The Managing Director of e-commerce platform Evaly, Mohammad Russell, and his wife, Chairperson Shamima Nasrin, have been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment for fraud.
On Sunday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Minhajur Rahman sentenced the couple to three years each in prison, along with a fine of 5,000 Taka. In case of non-payment, an additional six months of imprisonment will be served.
Since the defendants are currently absconding, the court has issued arrest warrants against them.
