BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said he wants to see free and fair general elections in Bangladesh where every political party including Awami League (AL) and its allies will take part.
If BNP and others repeat the same crimes Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina committed during her 15-year fascist rule by denying the opposition fair elections, they too might end up suffering the same retribution she has faced, the BNP leader said when giving an interview to Kolkata-based Bangla daily “Ei Shomoy.”
Fakhrul gave the interview at Dhaka’s Gulshan, and it was published on Monday.
