Family members of those injured and martyred in the mass uprising have staged a protest in front of the Secretariat. They have gathered in front of Gate No. 5 of the Secretariat, next to the National Press Club. Around a hundred members of the injured and martyr families are present there.
From Wednesday (February 19) afternoon, they have been holding the sit-in under the banner of the victims of the mass uprising.
The demands from the protest include categorizing the injured from the July mass uprising into two groups, implementing special protection laws to ensure the security of the families of the martyrs and the injured, establishing an emergency hotline.
Earlier, in the morning, they gathered at Shahbagh and then moved towards the Secretariat around 12:30 PM. At 1 PM, they started their sit-in in front of Gate No. 5 of the Secretariat.
Injured Jihad Islam said, “We do not want any discrimination with the families of the injured and martyrs. It is not acceptable for one category of injured people to receive monthly allowances while others do not.”
During this time, a 6-member delegation went to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
