A farmer died after being electrocuted at the home of his residence of Patila village under Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rajab Ali, 50, son of late Sultan Ali, a resident of the same area.
The incident took place around 11:00 AM when Rajab Ali accidentally came into contact with an electric fan while sitting nearby and got electrocuted.
Later, he was taken to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Dr. Mahmud Bin Hedayet, health and family planning officer of Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex, said Rajab Ali died before reaching the hospital.
Maheshpur Police Station officer-in-charge Saiful Islam confirmed the incident.
