A fire broke out in a moving vehicle at Hatirjheel in the capital. The Fire Service was notified at 12:25 PM on Tuesday, but due to traffic congestion, it took them half an hour to reach the scene. The fire was brought under control by 1:20 PM.
Eyewitnesses reported that a Land Cruiser Prado caught fire suddenly on the Hatirjheel overpass, causing a halt in traffic on surrounding roads and leading to a traffic jam.
Confirming the incident, Lima Khanam, the Duty Officer at the Fire Service Headquarters, stated that a fire broke out in a moving vehicle at the entrance of an overpass in Hatirjheel, Dhaka. Upon receiving the report at 12:25 PM, two units from the Tejgaon station were dispatched to the scene. Due to traffic congestion, the vehicles arrived at 1:00 PM, and the fire was brought under control by 1:20 PM.
She mentioned that the fire is initially suspected to have been caused by a mechanical or electrical fault in the vehicle.
