India has acknowledged damage to at least five of its airbases following retaliatory strikes by Pakistan, with military equipment and personnel affected, according to Colonel Sophia Qureshi of the Army’s Signals Corps.

In a press briefing on Saturday, Colonel Qureshi, flanked by Wing Commander Byomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra, said Pakistan carried out strikes on more than 26 locations. While most attacks were intercepted, several missiles did hit key targets.

The affected bases include Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda, where both infrastructure and staff suffered losses. Colonel Qureshi confirmed that “Pakistan attempted aerial incursions at multiple points and inflicted notable damage on our assets.”

Wing Commander Singh added that India’s defense systems responded to threats, but acknowledged some lapses. Prior to India’s confirmation, Pakistan had already claimed the destruction of Bathinda Airbase and the success of its ongoing campaign named Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs.

According to Pakistan’s military, advanced missiles including Fatah-1 and Fatah-2 were used in the attacks, targeting locations such as BrahMos missile depots. They claimed that India’s air defense was unable to neutralize several incoming projectiles.
