Five devotees die at the World Ijtema

Five people have died during the World Ijtema as of Saturday (February 1) evening. The latest death occurred in the evening, when a 75-year-old man named Haji Abdul Gafur from Charfashan, Bhola district, passed away. He died in his tent before the Maghrib prayer. This brings the total number of deaths to five.

Habibullah Raihan, Media Coordinator of Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh, confirmed the news.

Earlier, around 3:20 PM on Saturday, a 60-year-old man named Ramiz Ali from the Ramnagar 3 No. Tegaria area in Habiganj district also passed away in his tent due to illness. After the funeral prayer in the Ijtema ground, his body was sent to his village.

Previously, a 60-year-old man named Yakub Ali from Bahubal, Habiganj, passed away on Friday night.

On the same Friday, another person named Chabed Ali died from a heart attack around noon in Sherpur, while Abdul Quddus Gazi from Khulna passed away around 10:30 AM.

Funeral prayers were held for the deceased, and their bodies were sent back to their villages after.
