A land dispute in Gabtali upazila of Bogura escalated into a violent clash, leaving five people injured, homes vandalized, and valuables worth over Tk 6.5 lac looted. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

The clash occurred on May 2 in Keshober Para village under Sukhanuapukur Union, where a group of assailants allegedly ignored a court injunction and attacked the residence of one Mukul Mia, leading to serious injuries and property damage.

According to the case filed at Gabtali Police Station, Mukul Mia had a longstanding land dispute with neighbors over a legally purchased plot. Despite an interim injunction from the court restricting any activity on the land, the accused allegedly stormed the property around 10:10 AM, demolishing a tin-shed house located on the disputed land.

When Mukul Mia and his family protested, they were physically assaulted. Among the injured were Anisa Begum, Mukul Mia himself, Yakub, Milu, and Tahmina Akter. Yakub and Milu, who sustained severe injuries, were admitted to Mohammad Ali Hospital for treatment.

The attackers also looted gold jewelry, including a chain and bangles worth an estimated Tk 2.5 lac, and caused structural damage to the house by destroying the veranda grill, windows, and main gate—leading to further losses worth Tk 4 lac.

On May 5, Anisa Begum, wife of Mukul Mia, filed a case naming ten individuals—including Shafiqul Islam, Ayesha Begum, Alif, Mithu, Rojob, Shakil, Midul, Ramzan Ali, and Raihan—and 6–7 unidentified others for their alleged involvement in the attack.

The case is under investigation, and authorities are working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
