The funeral parade and namaz-e-janaza of Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam were held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday (22 July) at Kurmitola in Dhaka.
Following the janaza, his body will be taken to Rajshahi. A second funeral prayer will be held at the Sapura Eidgah field, after which he will be laid to rest at the Sapura graveyard in Rajshahi city.
Earlier, on Monday (21 July), Flight Lieutenant Towkir died when a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed near Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.
News of his death cast a deep pall of grief over his family home in Sector 3 of Uposhohor area in Rajshahi.
