RAB-4 has detained four suspected drug traffickers in a raid in Dhaka’s Pallabi area, recovering 49 kilograms of cannabis intended for citywide distribution.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-4) conducted the operation following intelligence reports about narcotics movement in the area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Akhi Akter (25), Ruma Akter (30), Yasmin (30), and Md Arman (35).

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the suspects were part of a network that collected cannabis from different parts of the country and sold it to dealers and small-scale peddlers across various zones of Dhaka, including Pallabi.

Officials stated that the group operated discreetly to avoid detection while trafficking large quantities of the illegal substance. Legal action is currently underway, and further investigations are in progress to trace other members involved in the network.

The RAB reiterated its commitment to curbing drug trafficking and urged the public to report suspicious activities to help combat narcotics-related crimes.
