Four young men were killed and two others injured in a collision involving three motorcycles in Shibchar, Madaripur, on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 2pm in the Saheb Bazar area of Kutubpur union’s Ward No 9, leaving Ramzan Sardar, 21, Ali Khan, 22, Hridoy Dhali, 19, and Mithu Talukder, 25, dead.
According to police and local sources, the crash happened when three motorcycles, travelling at high speed from Naodoba roundabout on the Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway towards Kutubpur’s Saheb Bazar, collided.
Liberty News’ local correspondent reports that two died on the spot, while four others were taken to the hospital, where two more succumbed to their injuries.
Shibchar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ratan Sheikh said the remaining two were undergoing treatment, adding that the dead bodies would be handed over to their families after autopsy procedures.
