Bappy Khan, Dhaka: A day-long free medical camp was held on the premises of South Asian Scholar School and College in Mirpur, Dhaka. The initiative aimed to provide basic healthcare services to local residents, including primary consultations for diabetes, dental issues, and bone-related problems.
The camp was inaugurated by former Member Secretary of Dhaka North Jubo Dal, Mostafa Jaglul Pasha Papel, who also attended as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Ferdousi Sultana Misty, Joint Convener of Dhaka North BNP; Abdullah Abdul, Hafizur Rahman Shubhro, Ziaur Rahman Zia, Mohsin Siddique Rony, youth leader Khalil Chowdhury, Taufiqur Rahman Chowdhury Tuhin, Safayet Rabbi Arafat, Abul Kalam Azad Lenin, Rasheduzzaman Faisal, and several BNP and affiliated party leaders and activists.
In his speech, Mostafa Jaglul Pasha Papel stated, “This initiative aims to bring free healthcare services directly to the people. Alongside basic treatment, we are distributing free medicines as needed. As per the directive of our Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, such welfare programs will continue.”
He added, “BNP will not tolerate extortionists. Strict organizational action is being taken against those involved in misconduct. I urge local leaders to closely monitor these social welfare activities.”
Over a hundred women, elderly people, and children received free medical care at the camp. Locals expressed that such healthcare initiatives greatly benefit low-income families and help reduce premature deaths caused by lack of treatment.
Local leaders also shared their views during the event and expressed hope for more extensive programs in the future.
