A fugitive accused in a child sexual assault case filed in Tangail’s Mirzapur has been arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members from the Lalpool area of Feni on Thursday night.
The arrested individual, Mozammel Hossain, 32, is a resident of Tentulia village under Mithapukur police station in Rangpur district. He had been on the run after being named in a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of RAB-7 (Feni Camp) and RAB-14 launched a special operation in Feni’s Lalpool area, where Mozammel was reportedly hiding to evade arrest. He had been frequently changing locations across Feni to avoid detection.
Confirming the arrest, RAB-7 Feni Camp Commander Rabiul Hasan Sarkar told Kalbela that the accused was handed over to Feni Model Police Station for further legal proceedings.
